New Business Cards for Simply Cooked

I have ordered some new business cards today using the superb service from Moo. The card stock they use is heavy and glossy and the print quality is excellent. I have used them before and loved the results. Last week I ran out of Simply Cooked cards so I decided that it was time to order new ones with rounded corners. And I am thrilled that this time they include QR codes!

If you have a smart phone, you can use QR codes. Download a QR code reader app and then take a picture of this (or any other) QR code. Each code is unique and points to a web address or contact details. Try it with the code above! It's a great shortcut for the business cards because it turns the physical card into a digital link; no typing required. I have seen QR codes used on a workshop presentation slide (which linked to the handouts online) or on the side or a product (linked to the company's website), and even on our church bulletin (linked to their Facebook page).

Moo generated the QR code for me when I decided to use them on my cards. The whole process of making the business cards is exceptionally easy. You can have as many images as cards, if you like, and the images can be printed right to the edge of the cards. They also make mini cards (which I have used as a teacher to give to students) and beautiful stickers with your own photos or text.

I am recommending Moo cards of my own volition - though the links in this post are referral links. If you decide to order from Moo, I will get referral points which will eventually give me a discount on my next order.

Do you have a smart phone? Have you ever used QR codes?

I love the look of Moo cards, have seen them online. I think they look an awesome product and love the mini cards. Sadly they turn out expensive for us Aussies due to shipping. Will have another look though as I love the idea of having your QR code on them. Yes I have smart phone and have used them.

Yes, the shipping is expensive if you are not in Europe or the US. But it's free right now - even overseas! Check it out!
Thanks for the info! I don't have a smart phone and didn't know about QR codes, but that is really cool. Your cards look great! I got business cards from Vista Print and was happy with them too.

Katherine, I'm interested in how you use your cards? I mostly give them to colleagues or acquaintances when they first hear about my blog. What about you?
I too love Moo cards I've never ordered them but have coveted them on-line. Love the photo you used, so much color.

Shelley, I used ten photos and I'll have 20 of each. (You can see all the photos in an album on my Facebook page.) That photo at the top of the post was the most popular in my last set of cards, too. The Moo cards are pretty reasonably priced for US customers... :)
The QR code is cool! Love Moo cards and have been considering getting some, now that I'm doing more freelance work and find that having business cards is essential. But they are almost TOO nice to give away! LOL! 8-)

Congratulations on starting to do freelance work. Moo makes a frame as well so you can display a set of minicards! They are so pretty.
I use MOO for my business cards, as well. They are always gorgeous...and thick...and I just like to whip them out and stare at them from time to time. Seriously. I have no experience w/ QR codes, though (no smartphone). I think it's a fabulous idea, though...I'll have to add it on my next order!

Yes! The thick card stock makes them feel very luxurious. They are nicer business cards than many corporate ones! Thanks, Heather, for visiting and for your comment.
The Moo business cards are beautiful. In the US, VistaPrint is very popular (and economical). But you get what you pay for. The print and color quality seems great also. Thanks for sharing this post!

Hi Sharon, I got the cards in the post today and they are even better than I expected. You know, Moo.com has a US site, too. ;-)
This is awesome! My current business cards are from Overnightprints.com but they are officially un-cool now that I know you can have QR codes included.

Oh, and you know, Sydney, they have a US branch too! Get some. I've never looked back - I've been using them for my blog and professionally for five years.
