Living Room Picnic

Anthony and I have a favourite dinner date place: our living room floor. Sometimes it's so nice to stay at home and enjoy each other's company than go out to a restaurant. We have a meal that has turned into a tradition: the living room picnic.

We spread out a blanket and lay out our finger foods. We usually choose some special cheeses, sliced meats, veggies, and some dip. Sometimes we eat focaccia, crackers, or hunks of fresh bread. I like olives and he likes hummus.

I have been known to stock up on marinated artichoke hearts for an upcoming picnic. And chill a bottle of wine. It's the perfect night in: just my hubby and I and our delicious finger food.

I love the salami hearts! Beautifully laid out.
I must be too old, though, as I would get annoyed about being uncomfy on the floor and we would end up sitting at a table. Especially if there is messy hummus! Eeek I must be so middle-aged - what a boring old fart. :)

Haha, I too have once surprised my man with an indoor picnic in my European-style kind-of-dormroom. At first it felt crazy, but later on it went very cosy. Too bad we only had about 1 sq meter so no laying around
